Will Building Trump’s Wall Help the United States?

By / January 26, 2017 / Politics

Now that Trump has officially stated that he plans to create a wall on the Unites States and Mexico border, many people are beginning to worry. While some people believe that the wall is going to help keep out illegal immigrants and slow down the drug trade, others are more convinced that it will do absolutely nothing but hurt our economy.

Why I Believe the Wall Will Help the United States

Now, I’m not going to pretend I’m an expert on politics, but I’m actually somewhat convinced this wall will help us out. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the southern part of California before, but if you have then I’m sure you’ve seen firsthand the amount of violence that illegal immigration has attracted there.

I truthfully believe that if we were to put up a wall on our border we would be able to drastically slow down the amount of drugs coming into our economy. And of course, if less people are getting hooked on drugs and sending all of our money to the pockets of El Chapo (yes I know he was finally extradited) then our economy will begin to rise once again.

Why I Believe the Wall Will Hurt the United States

Unfortunately, building a giant wall on the Mexico border isn’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows. Over the years I’ve met many illegal Mexican families living in our country who are very nice and hardworking people. And I have to admit that if this wall gets built I’m afraid that Donald Trump may try to deport many of the families already living here and I just don’t believe that is right.

Sure, I don’t mind if we deport all of the people who aren’t working and getting into gang violence, but other than that I think the families already living here should just be left alone. You can stop future illegal immigrants from coming into our country all you want, but that’s it. Leave the families alone.
